A Baking Passion Since Childhood
Mary started baking at eight years old, standing on a chair to reach her mama's counter. Through school events, church gatherings, and family dinners, she kept testing recipes and sharing every batch. What never changed was her belief that treats should taste like they came from a loving home kitchen. That simple joy of pulling something warm from the oven still guides every Bundt cake, cookie, and quick bread we bake today.
Growing With Tradition
Kellie grew up in a highchair next to Mary's mixing bowl, then graduated to her own little spoon. Through birthdays, weddings, baby showers, retirements, and countless Christmas cookie marathons, baking together became a family tradition. Those years taught us to respect fresh ingredients and never call a recipe "done" until every crumb makes you smile. Steel Magnolia Bakery grew naturally out of those moments, as friends began saying, "You two really should start a bakery."
Award-Winning Flavors
Long before we had a name or a logo, our treats were getting put to the test at real parties and special events. One of our sweetest milestones came when our cake pops placed at the Orange County Fair, earning recognition beyond our own family table. Steel Magnolia Bakery also operates under a Riverside County Class A Cottage Food Operation permit, reflecting our commitment to preparing our baked goods responsibly and in accordance with local requirements. Combined with years of “These are too good to share” comments, these milestones confirm what we have always believed: flavor and care matter most. Baking Love. Sharing Joy. is more than words—it is how we bake.
